CleverCleaner is a practical system utility whose aim is to scan your disk(s) searching for files and folders that are occupying too much space unnecessarily. It will provide you with a list of such items, so that you can select the files you want to delete and so recover that disk space.
The program's main user interface consists of a very small and simple window where you can select the system drives you would like to analyze. You can also click on the "Options" button to have access to the Configuration Window, where you can select the file deletion method among Normally Remove, Move to Recycle Bin, or Shred. You can also select the Internet browsers whose files you would like to analyze, as well as the type(s) of files involved in the search (cookies, cache, and history), and what other key folders and files you would like to include in the analysis. In addition, you can also make use of the search masks by adding or removing them from the default list, and define file and directory exceptions as well.
Once your have configured the search options, you can start the search process by clicking on the "Run" button. The process is quick and provides you with a report of all the unnecessary files found, allowing you to choose which of them will be actually deleted. The program's user interface is available in several languages, including German, Japanese, and Turkish (besides English, of course). Moreover, the program is open source, and therefore you can use it for free. |
